WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) -Leon Spencer scored all of his 21 points in the second half to lead Drexel to a 76-52 victory over UNC-Wilmington on Saturday night.
Spencer was 8 of 10 from the field and hit all five of his free throws as the Dragons (8-8, 3-3 Colonial Athletic Association) broke open a halftime tie to outscore the Seahawks 32-7 in the final 9:49 minutes of the game for their third consecutive victory.
UNC-Wilmington (4-15, 1-6) led 45-44 with 9:58 remaining before Spencer converted a three-point play for a 47-45 lead.
That started Drexel’s run as they held the Seahawks without a field goal for 8:52.
Tramayne Hawthorne added 16 points for Drexel, which shot 16 of 26 from the field (61.5 percent) in the second half. Samme Givens had 12 rebounds for the Dragons.
Johnny Wolf led the Seahawks with 17 points and Jerel Stephenson added 10 points.
