OGDEN, Utah (AP) -Bobby Howard scored 20 points and Eric Rush added 14 to lead Montana State to a 75-70 win over Weber State on Thursday night.
Danny Piepoli and Divaldo Mbunga finished with 12 points apiece for the Bobcats (10-6, 3-2 Big Sky).
MSU began to pull away late in the second half when Mbunga scored back-to-back baskets for a 64-58 lead with 3:46 remaining. But the Wildcats’ Kyle Bullinger hit a 3-pointer with 1:08 remaining to spark a 10-0 run that narrowed the lead to 72-70 with 41 seconds left. Rush made two free throws with 18 seconds left and Branden Johnson made one with 4 seconds remaining to seal the win for MSU.
Kellen McCoy led the Wildcats (9-8, 3-1) with 21 points, and Bullinger finished with 11 points.
