LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) – Kentucky coach John Calipari says the 13th-ranked Wildcats need to start playing better quickly if they want to keep pace in the Southeastern Conference.
Calipari says he hasn’t enjoyed coaching his team recently and is growing impatient with what he considers bad habits. While he’s taken extra time working with role players like Eloy Vargas, Jon Hood and Stacey Poole, Calipari says it takes time for players to break free of habits they’ve had for years.
The Wildcats (13-3, 1-1) host LSU (10-7, 2-0) on Saturday. Calipari says freshman Terrence Jones could come off the bench for a second straight game. Jones scored a school freshman-record 35 points in a victory over Auburn on Tuesday.
