 CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP) - Adam Leonard scored 16 points and three assists to lead Eastern Kentucky past Eastern Illinois 67-56 on Saturday night.
Darnell Dialls chipped in 13 points and six rebounds for the Colonels, and Josh Daniel added 12 points.
Eastern Kentucky (7-9, 4-4 Ohio Valley) lead 26-18 at the half and converted on 21-of-23 free throw opportunities.
Eastern Illinois (2-15, 1-8 OVC) fought back after the half with a 10-2 run midway through the period to make it 48-45 with 5:07 left.
Leonard led the Colonels as they pulled away, hitting four free throws and a 3-pointer in the game's final 2:41.
Bobby Catchings scored a game-high 17 points and made 4-of-4 free throws for Eastern Illinois. The other Panthers in double digits were Jake Byrne and Julio Anthony, who each added 13 points. Byrne added five rebounds, and Anthony added six assists.
