NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) -Ken Horton and Tristan Blackwood combined for 48 points Thursday night to lead Central Connecticut to a 75-64 win over St. Francis, Pa.
Horton had 22 points, 10 rebounds and seven blocked shots, all career highs. Blackwood added 26 points and seven assists for the Blue Devils (6-10, 2-3 Northeast Conference).
Cale Nelson led the Red Flash (3-12, 1-3) with 20 points and had the visitors ahead early. Nelson scored his team's first seven points for a 7-2 lead.
But Blackwood's 3-point play and his assist to Horton for a layup capped a 13-2 run and Central was up 15-9 and never relinquished the lead. The Blue Devils had a 45-29 lead at the break.
The Red Flash pared the lead to late in the second half but Blackwood scored seven straight points and the Blue Devils would cruise the rest of the way.
