 HAMDEN, Conn. (AP)DeMario Anderson led five players in double figures with 21 points and Quinnipiac started the second half on a big run to beat Mount St. Mary?s 70-59 on Thursday night.
With the game tied at halftime at 26, Quinnipiac (7-8, 3-1 Northeast Conference) opened the second period with a 14-6 run and extended the lead to 13 points with 11 minutes left to play. The Mountaineers (7-9, 3-2) would get no closer than seven points the rest of the way.
Karl Anderson had 12 points and James Feldeine added 11 for the Bobcats. Louis Brookins and Evann Baker both scored 10 for Quinnipiac. Brookins had nine rebounds.
Mount St. Mary?s was led by Jeremy Goode with 15 points and six assists. Will Holland added 10 points for the Mountaineers.
DeMario Anderson scored 10 of the Bobcats? first 12 points but Mount St. Mary?s took advantage of eight Bobcat turnovers to build a 19-12 lead. Quinnipiac countered with a 12-4 run before both teams battled to a draw at the break.
