 DURHAM, N.C. (AP) - Antonin Galaya scored a career-high 18 points in 16 minutes, knocking down six 3-pointers, as North Carolina Central dominated Virginia-Lynchburg 97-28 Tuesday night.
The Dragons' point total was the fewest allowed by the Eagles (8-7) since they routed St. Augustine's 75-28 in 1947.
N.C. Central led 17-9 at the 9:22 mark before shutting down the Dragons (9-14) to take a 43-11 advantage into intermission.
Galaya, who made 6 of 8 treys, was only 5 of 23 from long range in the previous 14 contests. The Eagles made 12 of 23 3-pointers.
Ray Willis added 16 points, Stanton Kidd 12 and Karamo Jawara 11 for N.C. Central, which has won three of its last four.
Kidd grabbed 11 rebounds as N.C. Central outrebounded the Dragons, of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association, 42-29. Emanuel Chapman contributed 10 assists.
Virginia-Lynchburg's Egor Shakmetov scored 9 of his 13 points in the second half.
