LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) – Nebraska is on its longest winning streak in 16 years and Doc Sadler says he has the makings for the best team in his five seasons as coach.
He and his players understand if the fans aren’t ready to jump on the bandwagon.
Nebraska is 12-2 and riding a 10-game winning streak going into Saturday’s Big 12 opener against Iowa State (13-2).
Skeptics are waiting to see if the Cornhuskers can keep things going. The only opponent during the streak to be among the 100 top teams in the latest RPI listing was USC at No. 26. Five are No. 225 or lower, including each of the last four teams Nebraska has beaten.
