CORAOPOLIS, Pa. (AP) – Dynami Sparks set a career high with 29 points as Bryant matched its Northeast Conference win total from a year ago with an 84-77 win over Robert Morris Thursday night in each team’s conference opener.
The Bulldogs went 1-17 in the NEC last year and 2-28 overall but are now 8-4 overall after winning their first conference game. The win was Bryant’s first over Robert Morris
Sparks drained a career-high seven 3-pointers in 12 attempts, and Frankie Dobbs had a career-best 26 points on 5-of-8 3-point shooting as Bryant hit 13 of 25 from deep. Alex Francis added 18 points and nine rebounds for Bryant.
Velton Jones led Robert Morris (8-6) with 24 points and six assists. Coron Williams, who entered shooting 64 percent (16 of 25) from 3-point range in his last four games, made just 1 of 3 from deep for his only three points of the game.
