COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – It’s the either/or that makes second-ranked Ohio State so good.
Opposing teams must decide if they’re going to try to double-team 6-foot-9 freshman center Jared Sullinger. If they do, then that’s an invitation to outside sharpshooters Jon Diebler, Will Buford and David Lighty to light them up.
And if the other team elects to hang back and not cheat on the Buckeye big man, that leaves Sullinger one-on-one in the post – and so far no one has stopped him.
By forcing teams to make a decision, and then exploiting whatever they decide, the Buckeyes have rolled to 14 straight wins heading into Tuesday night’s game at Iowa.
Despite losing consensus player of the year Evan Turner, the Buckeyes have lots and lots of weapons.
