Ohio State is headed for a Big Ten showdown that could put it in the national championship game. The top-ranked Buckeyes, though, know they have plenty of work to do before that happens.

The Buckeyes (8-0, 4-0) look to extend the longest winning streak in the country when they host struggling Minnesota (3-5, 0-4) on Saturday.

Ohio State has won its last 15 games, including Saturday's 44-3 rout of Indiana.

Without its best offensive player, Oklahoma hopes its defense can step up.

Missing arguably its top defensive player, Missouri needs its offense to keep coming up big.

The 19th-ranked Sooners hope their rejuvenated defense continues making up for the absence of Adrian Peterson in a Big 12 matchup Saturday with the high-powered offense of the No. 23 Tigers, who won't have sack specialist Brian Smith.

Thursday Night Football: Clemson at Virginia Tech

Clemson will need some help if it hopes to play for a conference championship. The Tigers know they'll also have to do their part.

The 10th-ranked Tigers (7-1, 4-1 ACC) look to extend their longest winning streak in seven years when they visit Virginia Tech (5-2, 2-2) on Thursday night.

Clemson won its sixth straight Saturday, 31-7 over then-No. 13 Georgia Tech. The Tigers hadn't had a win streak that long since opening the 2000 season 8-0.

Heisman Trophy Top-10 (Monday, October 23)
There are six CFB weekends remaining in the 2006 regular season, with almost all schools wrapping up their games over the next five weekends. While this year's season still has many significant things yet to be decided, the 2006 Heisman chase has clearly become a "two-horse" race between two QBs, Ohio State's Troy Smith and Notre Dame's Brady Quinn. And, Smith has a significant lead as he passes the three-quarters pole! My latest Heisman update follows.
