Emerald Bowl Preview

For the second consecutive season, Oregon State lost its first two conference games to fall under .500 through five contests.

And just like in 2006, the Beavers finished the regular season with just four losses and a bowl invitation.

Capping another strong turnaround with an Emerald Bowl win on Dec. 28 might not come easily, however, as the Beavers head to San Francisco's AT&T Park to meet Maryland, which has earned a reputation for stepping up in big games.

Houston will play in its fourth bowl game in five seasons Dec. 28, but its first without the man responsible for making that run possible.

The Cougars will face a TCU team that needed to win its final two games to extend its impressive run of postseason appearances when the schools meet in the Texas Bowl.

Schnellenberger hopes to lead the Owls to a triumphant end to their historic season when they meet Memphis in the New Orleans Bowl on Dec. 21 at the Superdome.

Champs Sports Bowl

Boston College is looking to extend the nation's longest active winning streak in bowl games. This certainly is not the game the Eagles hoped to do it in.

Having blown chances to play in either the BCS national title game or the Orange Bowl, the Eagles must settle for a Dec. 28 trip to the Champs Sports Bowl in Orlando as they try to avoid having Michigan State spoil their perfect bowl record this decade.

International Preview

Rutgers already knows Greg Schiano is not headed to Michigan. Ball State remains unsure if Brady Hoke is.

While Schiano's decision to stay with the Scarlet Knights may have kept the Cardinals' Hoke in the running, both coaches should be on the sidelines on Jan. 5 for the International Bowl in Toronto.
