Maryland Tourny Odds

Seemingly always playing third fiddle in the ACC to Duke and North Carolina, Maryland has shown that perhaps it is the best team in the conference this season.

Bet 2010 NCAA Tournament

A respected program in its own right, Maryland has appeared in two Final Fours this decade while winning the 2002 NCAA Tournament. The Terrapins have appeared in eight NCAA Tournaments since 2000 and won at least one game in seven of those appearances. This year, Maryland surprised many by winning a share of the ACC regular season title with Duke at 13-3 in conference play, Maryland sports a No. 19 ranking with a 23-7 overall record.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com have given Maryland 40/1 odds to win the NCAA Tournament and 5/2 odds to win the ACC Tournament.

Winners of their last seven, the Terrapins are coming off a win over the Blue Devils in their home season finale. Maryland has beaten two ranked opponents and lost back-to-back games just once this season. 13 games this year have been decided by 10 points or less for Maryland

The Terrapins lead the ACC in scoring offense at 79.8 points per-game but rank 10th in scoring defense, as they give up 67.4 points per-contest. Maryland shoots .475 percent from the field, ranking first in the ACC and their 3-point percentage is also tops at .393. Maryland also leads the conference in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.4) and assists (16.6 per-game).

Maryland’s leader is Greivis Vasquez, a guard that is posting 19.6 points, 6.3 assists, 1.6 steals, and 4.6 rebounds per-game. Vasquez also shoots 85 percent from the free-throw line. Forward Landon Milbourne scores 12.4 points per-game while pulling down 4.9 rebounds while Eric Hayes and Sean Mosley also each score in double figures on average.
