TORONTO (AP) -Forward Jermaine O’Neal and guard Jason Kapono missed Toronto’s game against the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night because of injuries.
O’Neal, who has a sore right knee, is averaging 14 points and 7.0 rebounds in 28 games. He missed three games last month because of injuries to his left knee and ankle. A six-time All-Star, O’Neal missed 42 games last season because of an injured left knee.
O’Neal scored a season-high 36 points in last Friday’s win at Sacramento, but played just nine minutes in Monday’s loss at Golden State, skipping the second half with flu-like symptoms.
Kapono, who has a bruised right thigh, is averaging 8.3 points and 2.2 rebounds in 31 games. Kapono replaced Parker in Toronto’s starting lineup on Dec. 10 and had started 11 consecutive games.
