WASHINGTON (AP) -Washington Wizards forward Caron Butler missed Saturday’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder with a left ankle injury.
It’s the first game that Butler will miss this season. He’s leading the team in scoring at 21 points.
Wizards interim coach Ed Tapscott said that Butler, who missed 24 games with a variety of injuries last season, tweaked his ankle in Thursday’s loss in Cleveland.
“He’s got a little ankle problem – some swelling,” Tapscott said.
Nick Young will start in Butler’s place.
