SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -Dallas forward Dirk Nowitzki was ejected in the fourth quarter for a flagrant foul on Utah's Matt Harpring.
Nowitzki backhanded Harpring in the mouth with 9:48 left to play after Utah's Kyrylo Fesenko scored on an offensive rebound. After the ball went through the net, Harpring caught it he and Nowitzki tangled under the basket. As they were breaking apart, Nowitzki flailed his right arm and caught Harpring squarely on the mouth.
Referee Jason Phillips immediately signaled for the ejection and the call stood after the officials watched a replay.
