MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -Minnesota Timberwolves center Theo Ratliff had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee, and his recovery is expected to keep him out for another six weeks.
Ratliff missed his 17th straight game on Wednesday night, when the Timberwolves hosted the Golden State Warriors. The 12-year veteran’s operation was done on Tuesday night in Alabama by Dr. James Andrews, who found a small tear in the meniscus cartilage. Coach Randy Wittman said he was concerned Ratliff could be out longer.
“So good news,” Wittman said.
Guard Randy Foye (knee) has not yet played this season for Minnesota, which was also missing guard Marko Jaric (flu), guard Greg Buckner (calf), and forward Antoine Walker (ankle) on Wednesday night.
