BOSTON (AP) - Former Celtics coach Doc Rivers is back in Boston - for the first time as the coach of the Los Angeles Clippers.
Rivers walked through the hall outside the locker rooms before then game greeting arena workers, Celtics employees and even members of the media. Then he told a crowd of about 40 reporters that the Celtics were his family for nine years.
Rivers led the Celtics to the 2008 NBA title and brought them back to the finals two years later. But he was traded to the Clippers this summer when Celtics general manager Danny Ainge decided it was time to rebuild.
Rivers says he'll be emotional when he steps back onto the parquet.
