MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – Ricky Rubio has started to do some light five-on-none work in practice for the Minnesota Timberwolves, another encouraging sign in his long rehabilitation from a torn ACL in his left knee.
Coach Rick Adelman says there is still no definitive timetable for the point guard’s return. He says he’ll have a better idea once Rubio starts to participate in some contact work in practice. Both Rubio and All-Star Kevin Love were on the court for instructional portions of practice on Sunday. Love has been out all season with a broken right hand and is expected to return in early December.
Adelman says Rubio hasn’t missed a beat mentally from all the time off. The best estimates for Rubio’s first game action remain sometime in the middle of next month.
