MIAMI (AP) -Pistons guard Richard Hamilton missed Detroit's season-opener at Miami on Thursday because of what the team called ``a family matter.'' Rookie Arron Afflalo started in Hamilton's place. Hamilton was expected to rejoin the Pistons in Orlando on Friday. He averaged a team-high 19.8 points last season. Miami also was without its starting shooting guard for the opener; Dwyane Wade (knee, shoulder) isn't expected back for a couple more weeks, at least. Joel Anthony and Earl Barron were the other Heat inactives. Rodney Stuckey (broken left hand) and Cheikh Samb joined Hamilton on Detroit's inactive list. |
