EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -Orlando’s Vince Carter sprained his left ankle in the second quarter against his former New Jersey Nets teammates on Friday and left the game.
A Magic spokesman said Carter’s return to the game in which he scored 16 points was questionable. He was not on the bench for the start of the second half.
Carter was hurt with about 3:05 left in the quarter when he stepped on the foot of former Nets teammate Devin Harris as he dribbled near the top of the key. The 11-year veteran, who was acquired from New Jersey in the offseason, immediately fell to the floor and clutched his ankle.
