PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -Greg Oden showed up for fall camp with both some new moves and 15 fewer pounds. And he had a new attitude.
Disappointed by his performance last season, the Portland Trail Blazers center dedicated his summer to recreating himself.
While living in Columbus, Ohio, for the offseason, Oden got weekly visits from Blazers assistant coach Bill Bayno to work on his skills.
He also met several times with former Blazer Brian Grant, who spent 12 years in the NBA. Grant, recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, provided Oden with a few on-court moves as well as motivational advice.
