INDEPENDENCE, Ohio (AP) – Cavaliers guard Mo Williams has made it through his first full practice of the preseason after being slowed by a groin injury.
Williams strained his groin shortly before the Cavs opened training camp. Williams, who is expected to carry more of the scoring load this season following LeBron James’ departure, impressed new coach Byron Scott with his stamina during a hard practice on Wednesday.
Scott wants Williams to get through another “four of five practices” before he decides when the former All-Star will play.
The Cavaliers play San Antonio in Pittsburgh on Thursday before hosting CSKA Moscow on Saturday at Quicken Loans Arena.
