LONDON (AP) – Kobe Bryant got some rehab work in while the Los Angeles Lakers scrimmaged during practice Sunday.
Bryant is recovering from offseason knee surgery but is planning to play in the preseason opener Monday against the Minnesota Timberwolves, saying he feels “a sense of responsibility” to hit the court for a London crowd eager to see one of basketball’s biggest stars.
Coach Phil Jackson insisted Bryant isn’t risking his health, saying “if it would back him up in his progress at all, he wouldn’t play.”
Bryant completed a full practice Saturday, only his second since training camp began.
