WESTWEGO, La. (AP) - The New Orleans Hornets are heading into training camp eager to see what Anthony Davis and several other new players can do.
Still, they will take a cautious approach with Eric Gordon's surgically repaired right knee. The Hornets say Gordon's participation in training camp will be limited because he's had soreness in his knee during voluntary offseason workouts.
Coach Monty Williams says he wants to be careful with Gordon so the high-scoring shooting guard will be fresh for the regular season.
Gordon says there is no swelling, just ``a little soreness,'' and sees the decision to rest him a precaution rather than a concern.
Meanwhile, Davis says he's relaxed, confident, and ready to have fun as well as work hard to help the Hornets work toward becoming playoff contenders again.
