LOS ANGELES (AP) – Eric Gordon got more than a gold medal from his summer in Europe with the U.S. national team.
The Los Angeles Clippers guard also gained confidence that he really can play with the world’s best.
He plans to show off what he learned this season with the Clippers, who hope he can help them get back to the postseason.
Gordon was the fourth-leading scorer and a key defensive player for the U.S. team, silencing critics who wondered if the soft-spoken Indiana product belonged.
Gordon has been a steady pro in his first two NBA seasons but general manager Neil Olshey thinks he has more talent than anybody in his 2008 draft class.
Olshey is counting on Gordon to be a leader in Los Angeles’ rebuilding effort.
