PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Greg Oden’s surgically repaired right knee has not healed and he’s uncertain when he’ll be able to play for the Portland Trail Blazers.
Oden, the No. 1 pick in the 2007 draft, will not play in the preseason and would not commit to a timeline when he spoke Monday. The Blazers open preseason practice on Tuesday.
Oden broke his right kneecap during a game last December against the Houston Rockets. It is one of several injuries the 7-footer has suffered since he came into the league.
Blazers swingman Rudy Fernandez also spoke Monday, after rumors swirled over the summer that the Spaniard would not return to the team.
