SALT LAKE CITY (AP) – Andrei Kirilenko says he’s happy to still be part of the Jazz and hopes to stay with Utah.
That may not be up to him, or even the Jazz entirely.
Kirilenko was mentioned last week in a potential four-team trade centered around Denver Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony, but so far no deal has been done.
Kirilenko reported with the rest of his Utah teammates for media day and pictures Monday, the day before training camp begins.
General manager Kevin O’Connor says the Jazz haven’t initiated any talks about trading the one-time All-Star, but would listen to offers for Kirilenko or any other player.
O’Connor says the Jazz won’t make a move merely to dump Kirilenko’s salary of almost $18 million this season.
