When U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Fatimat Bello heard the rumor, she immediately dismissed it as craziness. There was no way, she insisted, that the Miami Heat would be visiting Hurlburt Field for training camp.
Then the word kept spreading, and eventually, Bello realized it was actually happening.
For those military men and women stationed at Hurlburt Field and nearby Eglin Air Force Base, everyday work is serious business. But for the next week, things will seem much different with LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and the Heat there on their own mission – getting ready for the grind of the looming NBA season.
Bello says, “We’re all pretty excited about it.”
