MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -Minnesota Timberwolves forward Al Jefferson has a sprained right knee and will be sidelined for two to three weeks.
The team said Thursday that Jefferson is expected to be ready by the start of the regular season.
An MRI exam Wednesday confirmed a mild sprain to the medial collateral ligament.
In Jefferson's first season with the Timberwolves last year he averaged 21.0 points per game and 11.1 rebounds.
