MIAMI (AP) – Heat president Pat Riley says he’s as eager as anyone to get Miami’s season of NBA championship expectations finally rolling.
In fact, Riley says he’s even having trouble passing the time.
Riley says, “I’m actually bored stiff and I can’t wait for it to start.”
Riley said last season that Miami’s plan for the long-awaited offseason of 2010 was “to build a dynasty.” Step one in that process was convincing Dwyane Wade to re-sign, something that wouldn’t have happened unless either two-time reigning NBA MVP LeBron James or Chris Bosh decided to join the Heat.
Riley, of course, landed both James and Bosh this summer, moves that immediately pushed Miami back into championship contention.
Miami opens training camp Sept. 28.
