SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -The Utah Jazz signed point guard Jason Hart on Friday.
Hart signed a multiyear contract, but terms were not disclosed, said Kevin O'Connor, Jazz vice president of basketball operations.
The 6-foot-3 Hart played for Sacramento and the Los Angeles Clippers in 2006-07, a combined total of 36 games, and averaged 6.9 points, 2.9 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.22 steals in 23.6 minutes.
The Jazz had an opening in their backcourt after agreeing to release Derek Fisher from his contract so he could concentrate on finding the best care for his 11-month-old daughter, who has cancer in her left eye.
Hart has averaged 5.7 points, 2.6 assists and 1.9 rebounds in 240 games in six seasons. He has also played for Milwaukee, San Antonio and Charlotte.
