ATLANTA (AP) -The Atlanta Hawks are keeping the point guard who has led the team to two straight playoff appearances.
The Hawks and Mike Bibby have reached an agreement on a three-year contract, a person with knowledge of the negotiations said Tuesday. The person requested anonymity because the deal has not been announced.
Hawks general manager Rick Sund said he could not comment on the deal.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution first reported the agreement.
The Hawks acquired Bibby in a trade deadline deal in 2008, and he led the team to its first playoff appearance since 1999. He averaged 14.9 points and 5.0 assists per game last season as the Hawks won 47 games and advanced to the second round of the playoffs.
