MIAMI (AP) – Dwyane Wade was walking down the hallway toward the Miami locker room in the wee hours of Friday morning, then stopped briefly to assess the state of his team’s championship celebration.
He says the Heat are getting pretty good at these parties.
That’s understandable, Miami is getting plenty of practice at celebrating. Four trips to the NBA Finals since 2006, three championships in that span and with the last two titles coming consecutively, it’s making the decisions the Heat and LeBron James made three summers ago look pretty smart.
The Heat are now the sixth franchise in league history to win consecutive championships. And now the question becomes, how long with their run last.
Then again, if James keeps getting better, Miami’s place in history will probably only rise.
