WASHINGTON (AP) -Washington Wizards assistant Tom Young retired Thursday after four seasons with the NBA team and a long college coaching career that included leading Rutgers to the 1976 Final Four. Wizards coach Eddie Jordan was a player on that Rutgers team. ``I learned a great deal about the game of basketball from Tom. I enjoyed playing under Tom and then having the opportunity to work with him later in my coaching career,'' Jordan said. ``Tom was a great resource and a valuable contributor to our coaching staff in Washington.'' The 74-year-old Young also worked at Catholic, Maryland, American and Old Dominion. |
