Charlie Bell says he will have mixed emotions if Tom Izzo leaves Michigan State to coach the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The former Michigan State star and current Milwaukee Bucks guard acknowledged Wednesday that a $30 million deal and a chance to coach LeBron James would be tough to turn down.
Bell says he would be happy for Izzo if he chooses to go to the NBA but that he would miss out on a chance to build a legacy with the Spartans like Mike Krzyzewski has at Duke and Dean Smith did at North Carolina.
Izzo won a national championship in 2000, when Bell was a junior, and coached in the Final Four this year for the sixth time in 12 seasons.
Cavs general manager Chris Grant confirmed Tuesday the team has been in contact with Izzo and other candidates.
