BOSTON (AP) -The Boston Celtics are off until Monday, when they start practicing for the NBA finals that begin Thursday night.
With several players nursing injuries, the Celtics can use the five days between games. They’ll play the Los Angeles Lakers or Phoenix Suns. Los Angeles leads the series 3-2 going into Saturday night’s game at Phoenix.
Boston advanced Friday night with a 96-84 win over the Orlando Magic in Game 6. But Rajon Rondo hit the deck hard, grimacing after being fouled. Glen Davis played through dizziness from a concussion. And Rasheed Wallace put up with a painful back.
Coach Doc Rivers said he was most concerned about Wallace but expected him to be OK by Thursday.
There also are some minor injuries – Kendrick Perkins’ right wrist and Tony Allen’s right ankle. And Marquis Daniels missed Friday’s game after sustaining a concussion Wednesday in Game 5.
