CHICAGO (AP) -Evan Turner and John Wall could have some explosive matchups when they meet in the NBA. The one playing out at the moment is pretty intense, too.
The Washington Wizards won the draft lottery Tuesday, and now they have a decision to make: Do they take Turner, the national player of the year, or Wall, the dynamic freshman from Kentucky? Or someone else?
The NBA draft is on June 24.
At the NBA combine in Chicago, Turner says Wall is “a great player, young, smart” – but he thinks his versatility could clinch the top pick for him. The 6-foot-7 Turner averaged 20.4 points, 9.2 rebounds and 6 assists while shooting 52 percent from the field for Ohio State last season.
The 6-foot-4 Wall became a highlight reel staple while leading Kentucky to a 35-3 record and the SEC regular-season and conference tournament titles. He averaged 16.6 points and 6.5 assists per game.
