TULSA, Okla. (AP) -Friends and fans are paying their last respects to former University of Oklahoma and NBA basketball star Wayman Tisdale.
The public viewing was held Wednesday at the Friendship Baptist Church in Tulsa.
Some people lined up two hours before the church doors were opened. Inside the church, the open casket was surrounded by photos of his basketball and musical careers. An accomplished jazz musician, a guitar also was in the casket.
Tisdale was a three-time All-American for Oklahoma in the mid-1980s before playing 12 seasons in the NBA with Indiana, Phoenix and Sacramento. He died Friday after a two-year battle with bone cancer.
He was 44.
