OXFORD, Miss. (AP) -Mississippi guard Eniel Polynice has declared himself eligible for the NBA draft and will not return for his final season with the Rebels.
Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy made the announcement Wednesday.
Polynice said in a statement that he will become the first member of his family to graduate from college in a few weeks and is ready to pursue his dream of playing professional basketball.
He averaged 8.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and a team-high 3.9 assists last season, helping the Rebels win the SEC West and reach the semifinals of the NIT.
The 6-foot-5, 220-pound guard from Sarasota, Fla., finished his college career with 791 points, 397 rebounds and 319 assists.
