ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard says the discomfort in his scratched eyes is minimal and he’ll be ready for Game 2 against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Howard was inadvertently scratched by Sixers center Samuel Dalembert in Game 1. Howard joked Tuesday after being honored as the NBA’s defensive player of the year that Dalembert’s hand had kryptonite on it but the effects on “Superman” were gone, a line he often uses.
Howard had said Monday he was “seeing just a whole bunch of crazy stuff” when he closed his eyes and felt a “pulsating” sensation when they were open. But now the eyes are just irritated more than anything, and he expects to play against the Sixers on Wednesday night.
