CLEVELAND (AP) -Cleveland Cavaliers center Ben Wallace has been activated for Saturday’s playoff opener against the Detroit Pistons.
Wallace missed the final two games of the regular season with a strained patellar tendon in his left knee. He has been limited in practice, but Cavs coach Mike Brown says Wallace would dress for Game 1. It was not certain that the 6-foot-9, 240-pound big man would play.
Wallace missed 17 games with a broken right leg before returning April 5. He hurt his knee after coming back.
Cleveland’s best interior defender spent a few minutes working out before the opener while Cleveland’s training staff watched.
