INDEPENDENCE, Ohio (AP) -Shaquille O’Neal has been cleared by team doctors and could play in Cleveland’s regular-season finale Wednesday at Atlanta.
He might be joined by LeBron James, although Cavaliers coach Mike Brown hasn’t made any decisions yet. The team will hold a contact practice on Tuesday, and depending how O’Neal fares, Brown could start him against the Hawks.
James has sat the last three games since Cleveland clinched home-court advantage throughout the playoffs. O’Neal has been out since tearing a ligament in his thumb on Feb. 25 at Boston.
Brown is deciding between having all of his starters play one game together before the playoffs begin or holding out his stars until the postseason begins.
