WASHINGTON (AP) -Washington Wizards All-Star forward Caron Butler missed the game Saturday night against the Philadelphia 76ers because of a bruised right knee.
Butler banged knees with Rodney Stuckey in the second quarter Friday night in a loss to the Detroit Pistons. Butler returned to the game in the second half but was obviously laboring. He finished 1-for-7 from the field and scored only six points.
It was the second time in a week Butler knocked knees with another player. He bruised his same knee in a collision with teammate Darius Songaila during practice Tuesday but was well enough to play the following day against Boston.
Butler has missed 21 games this season, including 19 with a hip injury.
