MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -Minnesota’s Al Jefferson won’t play in Friday night’s home game against the Los Angeles Lakers so he can tend to a personal matter.
Coach Kurt Rambis says Jefferson has a family member who is in the hospital. Rambis says he’s hopeful but unsure whether Jefferson will return to practice on Saturday.
Jefferson is averaging 17.4 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. He has missed six games this season, including two this week, two after a suspension for a drunken driving arrest in March, and two after his grandmother died in November.
