PHOENIX (AP) -The Phoenix Suns have signed forward-center Dwayne Jones, the leading rebounder in the NBA Development League.
The 6-foot-11, 250-pound player averaged 17.6 points and 16 rebounds for the Austin Toros. Jones has had NBA stints with Charlotte, Cleveland and Boston since coming to the league in 2005.
The Suns, in the midst of a tight scramble for playoff position in the West, are without starting center Robin Lopez because of a bulging disk.
Jones will be eligible for the playoffs. Phoenix, back from a 4-1 road trip, is idle until a Wednesday night matchup at home against San Antonio.
