MIAMI (AP) – The Miami Heat are tying a franchise record by using their 30th starting lineup of the season when they play host to the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday night.
Miami also used 30 lineups in the 2007-08 season. So far this season, only Philadelphia and New York have used more starting-five combinations than the Heat have been forced to try because of roster moves, injuries and illnesses.
Philadelphia has used 37 lineups this season entering Tuesday. The Knicks have used 34. The NBA average so far this season is 17.6, based on numbers provided by STATS LLC.
Miami’s projected lineup Tuesday was Dwyane Wade and Goran Dragic at guard, Henry Walker and James Ennis at forward and Chris Andersen at center.
