CLEVELAND (AP) -The case of the missing basketball has taken a heartwarming bounce.
The ball Cleveland Cavaliers center Zydrunas Ilgauskas (ZHEE’-droo-nuhs ihl-GOWS’-kuhs) used to score his 10,000th career point turned up in the hands of a local youngster who left with it after a March 21 game against Atlanta.
Ilgauskas was hoping to find the ball and keep it as a memento.
The boy’s mother contacted the Cavs to say her son wanted to return the ball, but the 7-foot-3 Ilgauskas told the youngster to keep it as a souvenir.
Ilgauskas was set to play in his 700th career game Tuesday against Detroit.
