WASHINGTON (AP) -Washington Wizards guard Mike James is out for the season after breaking his right pinkie in practice, another blow for the injury-riddled last-place team just as it welcomes back three-time All-Star Gilbert Arenas.
James hurt his hand Friday, and X-rays revealed the fracture. He joins Arenas, Brendan Haywood, DeShawn Stevenson, Etan Thomas and Caron Butler as Wizards who have missed substantial time this season.
James was acquired Dec. 10 from the New Orleans Hornets in a three-team trade. He averaged 9.6 points and 3.6 assists in 53 games, including 50 starts, since joining the Wizards.
Arenas is expected to make his season debut Saturday night against the Detroit Pistons after a long rehabilitation from three knee surgeries over 18 months.
