MILWAUKEE (AP) -Milwaukee’s Carlos Delfino has been taken off the court in a stretcher late in the second quarter against the Miami Heat after Udonis Haslem landed on the forward’s neck and head.
Delfino drove for a layup with 2:29 left in the first half and fell face down to the floor. On the ensuing scramble for the rebound, Haslem jumped and got it, appearing to land on Delfino’s neck or the lower part of the back of his head.
Delfino never moved as paramedics flipped him over on his back and strapped him to a board. Paramedics crossed Delfino’s arms, but he made no obvious gestures while the crowd chanted his name.
He appeared to be conscious and blinking while being worked on for about 7 minutes.
